I here from a lot of people who tell me that elliptical workouts do nothing for them. For them I simply say that they are doing them all wrong. Yes you may be on the elliptical and actually working out but the routine that you are doing is nothing in comparison to what I would recommend.

An elliptical workout requires that you do both aerobic and cardio exercises and frequently you will see or know someone who has tried one. For many people elliptical workouts are used instead of treadmills because they find it easier on the leg muscles and joints. A workout done on this machine involves your entire body from arms, legs, shoulders and your core muscles.
When you first get on an elliptical you make sure stand with your feet on the footpads and hands on the handles. While working out you want to make sure you maintain a smooth fluid motion and avoid jerking motions. The workouts will feel very natural and will compliment your normal body movement which is why a lot of people prefer them or treadmills.
The Great Things About An Elliptical Workout
One of the best things about a workout done on this type of machine is that it works both the upper and lower body at the same time. They are also considered to be a low impact machine which is especially good for people with some sort of joint or hip problem. Another great plus is that you can essentially go in reverse motion and not have to worry about falling like you would if you tried running backwards on a treadmill.
20 Minute Elliptical Workout that Kicks Fat
This is a simple 20 minute elliptical workout that can be modified and changed to your likeness. The great thing is that you will only spend about 20 minutes in the gym or at your home and will burn more calories than you ever have before. Why you asked, simple because this elliptical workout is a high intensity interval workout. When you get on the elliptical I want you to warm up for 5 minutes at a moderate pace.
After your warm-up I want you to set the level to high and go hard for about 30-45 seconds giving it all you can and then go back to a low level that allows you to rest. This is extremely important make sure you go low enough so that the next time you can give it your all again. Repeat this for ten minutes and conclude with a 5 minute cool down. You will be burning calories for up to 24 hours after your workout.
